Publish in a newspaper

Joel is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Linda Waliczek, and his cherished sons, Christian, Jacob, and Caden. His legacy of love and guidance will continue to live on through them. He also leaves behind his caring mother, Nora, with her husband Ronald; his brother, Richard Jr. and his wife Cindy; and his mother-in-law, Barbara DeSomer. His life was further enriched by his relationships with his brothers-in-law, Tom (Cindi), Tim (Tammy), and Jim (Michelle), as well as his adored nephews and nieces, Cooper, Caleb, Alexa, Zachary, Brandon (Katie), Bryan, Matthew (Mallory), Morgan, and Grace, along with his great niece, Sadie. He was beloved by many aunts uncles, cousins, and friends. Joel was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr., and his father-in-law, Robert DeSomer.

Joel's passion for helping others was evident from his youth. He attended Hannibal-LaGrange University in Missouri, where he earned a degree in social work on a full-ride scholarship for baseball and football, showcasing not only his athletic skills but also his dedication to his studies. His commitment to helping troubled youth in the Chicago area spanned over 15 years, during which he touched many lives through his work in the social field.

In addition to his social work, Joel was a successful entrepreneur. He operated his own distribution business, Eco-Chem, which provided cleaning and janitorial supplies to various businesses, community organizations, and churches. His business acumen, his faith, and desire to serve his customers with care and concern were a testament to his multifaceted talents and his drive to make a difference in his community in numerous ways.

A man of deep personal faith in Jesus Christ, Joel's life was a reflection of his beliefs. His love for the Lord motivated him to continuously pour into his three sons and to share his faith with family, friends, and business associates. He was passionate about studying the Scriptures and seeking to discover God's will and purposes for his life.

Joel's love for sports was undeniable. He was an avid baseball and football fan, which translated into his joy for coaching. He imparted his knowledge and enthusiasm for the games to young athletes, inspiring them to achieve their best both on and off the field. His personal hobbies included collecting baseball cards and engaging in various online buying and selling ventures. Joel also enjoyed the simple pleasures of playing board games and card games with his family and friends, creating memories that they will treasure forever.

Joel's presence was a beacon of warmth and kindness, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His unwavering integrity, generosity, his quick wit, and loving spirit will be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched. Joel's journey on earth may have concluded, but the impact of his life will continue to resonate for generations to come.

As we say good-bye to Joel Waliczek, we celebrate a life well lived – one with purpose and love and laughter. We commit him to the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ and look forward to an incredible, eternal reunion in heaven.
