Joel was my fellow grad student at St.Thomas. Joel knew how to light up the room (zoom-class). He had a way of holding everyone's attention, making us laugh or cry. He called me the dog whisperer! I am saddened that he will not be there with us on graduation day. But I know he will be there with us through our journey to graduation as well as being there with us in spirit. Even though it was a short time knowing Joel, he made a huge impact that felt like a lifetime. Here is to breakout room #4. Rest in peace Joel, Sending much love and prayers to your family during this difficult time.

Joel and I had cool nicknames for each other because he was just that cool of a guy and just rolled with it. He was known as "nighthawk" and was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. His students loved him and he was someone that you could immediately trust. He will be missed.

Joel was my fellow grad student at St.Thomas. During every class, Joel had something to add to the conversation. He joked around a lot, which I loved. He was so open and generous when sharing meaningful experiences with us. I can´t believe we don´t get to meet him in person for graduation. I am so shattered to know he won´t be lighting up our class time again, and am sending love to his family.

Joel was a colleague of mine in the AH School District and a peer in the St Thomas Work and Learn program. He was an incredible person and he will be deeply missed! My prayers to the family in this time of loss.
