Joellen Irene Reinhardt, born on February 21, 1949, in Valparaiso, Indiana, departed this life on May 12, 2025. She lived a life marked by dedication, both to her career and her family, and will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joellen served honorably in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. This experience shaped her strong character and unwavering sense of duty. She built a respected career as a computer specialist at the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS), where she proudly utilized her skills and knowledge to make significant contributions to her field.
Joellen loved her flowers and was very social. She had many different friend groups that gathered regularly. Her amazing friends have been by her side for many years and stood strong by her until the end.
A proud mother, Joellen is survived by her children, Billie Jo Smith, Paul Lewis Smith Jr., and Amanda Renee' Reinhardt. Her legacy continues through her eleven beloved grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. Joellen's significant other, Steve Harper, brought her so much love and laughter and remains a pillar of support for the family as they navigate this profound loss.
Joellen was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Aileen Griswold, who played a pivotal role in shaping the values that Joellen held dear throughout her life.
Visitation will be held at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary in Zionsville, Indiana, on May 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with military honors at 4:30 PM. Friends and family are encouraged to come together to celebrate Joellen's remarkable life and the indelible mark she left on her loved ones and community.
