Joette Joyce (Volkey) Barsztaitis, 90, of Peru, passed away Thursday morning, March 26, 2026 at Manor Court, Peru.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 6, 2026 at St. Joseph's Church, Peru with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Joette was born November 16, 1935 in Baraboo, WI to Charles and Marguerite (Loomis) Volkey. She grew up in Lake Delton. She married Raymond John Barsztaitis in 1978 in Portage, WI. He passed away November 26, 2021.
Joette owned and operated Busy Bee Cleaning Service. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Peru. Joette was very social and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time at their cottage in Birchwood, WI.
Survivors include two children, Roger Setzer, and Julie (Mike) Nelson; four step-children, Karen (Alex) Dutkiewicz, Raymond (Sue Trost) Barsztaitis, Katherine Ketchum, and Randall Barsztaitis; one brother; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Toni Schenk; two brothers; a sister; and a step-son, Rodney J. Barsztaitis.
