Obituary of Joey Foster Marlow
Joey Foster Marlow was born on January 11th, 1973 in Oklahoma to Herman and Donna Marlow. He married the love of his life Sherry Ramsey Marlow in February of 1998 in Las Vegas, with the wedding officiated by Elvis.
Joey was always a salesman at heart. His early days selling goods door to door set the foundation of discipline and drive that made him so successful. He found a passion for telecom and worked for all of the major companies back then: Metrocall, Pagenet, Nextel, Time Warner, and AT&T. He was always a top producer and won hundreds of awards.
When Joey opened his own business in 2004 (Strategic Telecom Solutions) he was a partner with Sprint's Business Solutions Partner network. Joey was incredibly driven and competitive. He wanted to be number one in whatever he did, and STS was always one of the top partners at Sprint.
In 2015 STS was acquired by Geotab and Joey served as Executive VP of US Operations. He loved business and technology but thrived working with people and teams. He still participated in board meetings and stayed connected until his last days. It kept him going. Joey had an amazing, distinguished career and he loved every minute of it.
Joey had such a passion for life and lived it to the fullest every day. His affinity for traveling led him all over the globe. He could never sit still for long and always wanted to know where the next adventure would lead him.
He also loved his friends. They were everything to him. Dinners out, wine trips, bourbon tastings, he loved social connection and having a good time with good people.
Joey loved living in Las Vegas - where he and his wife resided since 2002. Whether it be supporting sports teams like the Golden Knights or Raiders, giving philanthropically to local charities, or networking with other like-minded locals, he was determined to do all in his power to make his city better.
But out of all his lifetime achievements, he was most proud of his wife and family. Joey and Sherry celebrated 25 years of marriage just a month before he passed. He lived for big family Christmases surrounded by everyone who loved him. He was very close to his siblings and "Uncle Joey" was always everyone's favorite.
Joey left an impression on so many people throughout his lifetime. His commanding presence and larger than life personality will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Joey is survived by his wife Sherry Ramsey Marlow of Las Vegas, father Herman Marlow of North Las Vegas, siblings Paula (Jay) Robertson of Owasso, Oklahoma, Penni (Bode) Olatunde of Arlington, Texas, Jason (Kim) Marlow of Tempe, Arizona, Cousin Shelly (Bobby) VanSandt of Miami, Oklahoma, and fur babies Frida and Blu. He is predeceased by his loving mother, Donna Marlow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Joey Marlow Scholarship Endowment at the UNLV Lee Business School. Joey was incredibly passionate about business, entrepreneurship, and leadership - he was so proud of this legacy.
