Johanis Thomas Luckett

Johanis Thomas Luckett, affectionately known as "Jerry," passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nathalie Sykes-Luckett; his parents, Annie and Robert Luckett; and his sisters, Dorothy L. Carter and Bobby L. Chapman. He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Mac Luckett, Dora L. Saverin, and Stella L. Francois; stepchildren, Terrence Sykes Sr. (Sonya), Tanisha Sykes-Smith (Rev. Jonathan), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Officers, members, and friends of Greater Carver MBC, Disciples of Faith MBC, Unity Temple COGIC, and surrounding churches, former and current employees of Chairty & University Medical Center, Riely Electrical Supply, Star of Bethlehem Lodge #168, and all who knew and loved him are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Greater Carver MBC, 3343 Metropolitan Street, New Orleans, LA 70126. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by service at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Howard Stirgus will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
