Johanna Frances Lamar, 85 of Canute, Oklahoma was born on December 10, 1939, in Canute, Oklahoma to John Henry and Frances Katherine (Mann) Ziegenfuss. Johanna went to walk the Golden streets of Heaven on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family
Johanna grew up in Canute, Oklahoma and graduated from Holy Family Catholic Church, Canute, Oklahoma with the class of 1959.
Johanna married the love of her life, Furman Hargis Lamar on April 26, 1961. They spent many wonderful years of marriage together before Furman preceded her in death on October 22, 1970.
Johanna was a dedicated Wal-mart Associate in
Elk City, Oklahoma for twenty-five years where she retired. She proudly provided for her family by working as a determined entrepreneur selling Tupperware, Encyclopedias, Amway Products, Vacuum Cleaners, and even clothing.
Johanna was a very social person and had many hobbies which included cake decorating, upholstery, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was an avid square dancer, loved traveling and liked playing bunko with the ladies group.
Johanna was a devout member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church,
Elk City, Oklahoma and had a deep personal relationship with God and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a Lion's Club Member in Canute, Oklahoma. Johanna's zest for life inspired countless moments of joy with family and friends, her spirit will be greatly missed and deeply remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The Prayer Vigil will be held 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church,
Elk City, Oklahoma with Rosary to follow. Deacon Bill Roesch will officiate. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church,
Elk City, Oklahoma. Father Danny Grover will officiate. Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Canute, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in
Elk City, Oklahoma.

Elk City, Oklahoma, Justin Swint and wife, Kayla of Norman, Oklahoma, Eric Swint and wife, Ashley of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Ann Pierce and husband, Seth of Norman, Oklahoma, Danny Raia and wife, Julie of the Philippines, Steven Mulkey of Mountain View, Oklahoma, Joshalynn Chapmond and husband, Jordan of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Josh Lumpkin of Enid, Oklahoma, Sasha Burns and husband, Trenton of Sayre, Oklahoma; numerous great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones who will carry her legacy forward.
Johanna is preceded in death by her husband, Furman Lamar; her parents, John Henry and Frances Katherine Ziegenfuss; two sons, Dawayne Lamar, Dennis Lamar; two grandsons, Matthew Resendes, Jeremy Smith; four brothers, Edward Ziegenfuss, Frederick Ziegenfuss, Ambrose Ziegenfuss, Henry Ziegenfuss; five sisters, Josephine Luttmer, Agnes Luttmer, Anna Clancy, Loyla Light, and Emma Peters.
