John Addams Obituary
John Howard Addams, 80, Rockford, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Azura Memory Care of Clinton. He was born in Rockford on September 15, 1944, the son of Howard Joseph and Eleanore (Wahlgren) Addams. John was a veteran of the Army serving in Germany. He married Turid Skreien in Rockford on May 20, 1972. John was a mechanical engineer working for various firms in the Rockford Area. He was an avid golfer and pool player and enjoyed working on his cars.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Turid; his children, Andrea (Ben) Daugherty, Brett Addams and Jane Addams; his grandson, Aksel Daugherty; his brothers-in-law, Terje Skreien and Einar (Ingrid) Skreien; his niece, nephews and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, with Reverend Rob James of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock River Valley Food Pantry, 421 S. Rockton Av. Rockford, IL 61102, in John’s name. There is no visitation at the funeral home.
