JOHN J. AGUDO, 83, (JOHNNY), passed away on July 20, 2025, in Pembroke Pines, Florida. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, John's warmth and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He had his own language that we all understood!
Born on September 27, 1941, in Caracas, Venezuela, John immigrated to Brooklyn, New York at the age of nine. He attended Saint Edmund Catholic School. Embracing his new life with determination and optimism, he would go on to build a remarkable career, settling in South Florida where he graduated from North Miami Senior High School, and later University of Florida where he became an avid Gator fan. John began his professional journey in advertising with the Miami Herald. His creativity and drive later led him into real estate, Broker owner of seven offices, and 300 sales people, Johnny was the Best of the Best!
Johnny worked everyday alongside his wife, Janice Agudo. Together they built a thriving business and shared a partnership that spanned more than four decades. John was deeply rooted in his Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 40 years, Janice Agudo; daughters, Amy Agudo Metzger, Michele Colbeth and Kimberly Colbeth Meisel and grandchildren, Brianna Agudo, Sofia Sokol, Johnny Donado, Daniel Donado, Michael McCann, Natalie McCann, Atlas Metzger Agudo, and great-granddaughter, Siena Isla.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Agudo Donado, his son, Andy Dann, his parents, Carmen Agudo Davila and Juan Agudo, his sister, Carmen Haferkamp as well as his grandson, Christian Donado.
John found immense joy in life's simple pleasures, spending time with family and friends, watching football, The Miami Dolphins, traveling, and enjoying great food, that his friend Mark cooked. Topping it off with cherry vanilla ice cream and peanut M&Ms. His presence could light up any room. Whether sharing stories or cracking jokes, John had an uncanny ability to bring people together through humor.
He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, his brilliance, but also for the way he made others feel uplifted, and loved. His heart of gold touched countless lives.
May his memory bring comfort and love to those who knew him and continue to inspire joy for many years to come. Amen
