Of Deposit, NY
John Anthony Aiello, 63, of Deposit, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal, NY.
He was born on January 8, 1960, in Waldwick, NJ, to the late Joseph Anthony and Ruth Elinor (Carson) Aiello (who was born and raised in Deposit, NY). John was also predeceased by his brother Gary Anthony Aiello.
John is survived by his loving husband Bryan Smith of Deposit, NY; siblings Donna Pascrell of NJ, Marie Rodgers of AZ, Nancy Granados of MD, and Joseph Anthony Aiello, Jr. of MD; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
John was raised in Bowie Maryland and graduated from Bowie High School. He began his working career as a banker in New Jersey. He then moved to NYC and pursued his career in theatre where he worked with producer John Glines as a co-producer and casting director on several of his productions. Next, John went to Los Angeles and became a casting director on several Television Shows and Movies. During his tenure as a casting director John was awarded two Emmy's for his work on the television series NYPD Blue. Following his career in theatre John became a Parish Administrator for St. Victors Church in West Hollywood and received his Administrator Certificate from Loyola Marymount University. After retiring John and Bryan moved back to Deposit, NY in July of 2021 where he was involved in the Deposit State Theatre, Deposit Historical Society, and Deposit Community Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 1pm at St. Joseph's Church, 2nd St. Deposit, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 12pm till 1pm.
Interment will be held in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit, NY.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be given to the Deposit Historical Society, 145 2nd St., Deposit, NY 13754.
