John S. Alberta, Jr., 86, of Wenonah, NJ passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

John was born in Philadelphia, PA to John and Helen Alberta. After graduating from Camden High School, class of 1957, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served for 3 years.

John married Barbara King and they settled in Wenonah, NJ to raise their family. John's career ultimately led him to Boeing, where he retired as Senior Cost Analyst. He was employed with Boeing for over 30 years. John devoted much of his time volunteering as a docent and part of the gun crew on the USS Battleship New Jersey. John exulted pride for his county and being a veteran.

John and his wife were members of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church in Woodbury Heights. He adored his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Bobbi Scheffler (Greg "Shef"), John Alberta III (Kelly), Charles "Chip" Alberta (Judy) and Michael Alberta (Lisa); his sister, Barbara Burleigh (Joe); his grandchildren Michael (Allison), John (Amy), Kelcy, Amy (Steve), C.J., Bridgett, Michael Jr. (Bella), Matthew, Adam and Emily; great grandchildren, Lilly, Westin, John V, Adrian, Jamal, Gianna, Angellina and Dominic. John is also survived by his extended family and his shipmates on the USS New Jersey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 9:00am until 11:00am at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ 08096. A funeral ceremony will be conducted at the funeral home at 11:00am. John will be placed to rest, joining his beloved wife, following the ceremony at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.

In lieu of flowers, John's family has requested that donations be made to Battleship New Jersey, in John's honor. Donations can be made at Donation in Memory of Johnny Alberta | Battleship New Jersey
