John was preceded in death by his parents, Peter & Theresa, his brother Peter (Barbara) and sister Lucille (Joe) Valentino who he has now joined in heaven reuniting him with those whom he started his life's journey with and who he was close to throughout their lives.
John is survived by his wife Brenda of over 44 years who he met in 1980 when his career brought him to Minnesota from New Jersey. John and Brenda shared over four decades of love, laughter, memories and exciting life experiences together. John and Brenda's bond ran deep and there is no doubt that given the chance, they would do it all again.
John is also survived by his sons John, Michael (Bina) and Peter (Sharon) Alfinito and seven Alfinito grandchildren (John, Michael, Julia, Lauren, Sophia, Jacqueline & Benjamin). When John married Brenda, Bridget, Bill (Mary), Brian and Steve (Diane) Maney came into his life and later added six more grandchildren (Andrew, Jack, Nick, Joe, Ally and Ryan). Family was always important to John and his love, care and concern for his children and grandchildren never wavered.
John developed a strong work ethic starting at a very young age that he carried with him throughout his life. After graduating from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science & Pharmacy degree in 1960, John went on to a 40-year career where he held several key management positions with prominent chemical companies in New Jersey, Minnesota and Chicago. Following retirement in 2000 after he and Brenda moved to Eden Prairie from Chicago, John's work ethic kept him working part time for another 10 years.
Services will be held Saturday November 22nd at Washburn McReavy Funeral Chapel 7625 Mitchell Road Eden Prairie, MN 55344 with a Visitation at 10:00 and Memorial Service at 11:00 followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation in John's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
