He was predeceased by his beloved wife Carol (Bennett) Allen and his granddaughter Katelyn Allen. Beloved father of John M. Allen Jr. and his wife Marie of Middleboro, Kathleen Fabrizio and her significant other Norman McGilvray Jr. of Marshfield, Steven Allen of Texas, David Allen of Marshfield, Linda Bamford of Marshfield, and Brian Allen and his wife Kathleen of Falmouth.
He is the grandfather of John III, Chris, Brendon and Evelyn Allen, Lauren Santos and Michael Fabrizio, Heather Allen, Alicia Howland, Candace Allen, Jordan, Jonathan, and Joshua Bamford, Eryn and Brian Allen Jr., as well as fourteen great grandchildren. Beloved brother of Louise Allen, Margret Schlup, and Barbara Ritson all of Vermont.
John was a longtime member of Iron Workers Local 7. He enjoyed sharing stories of the jobs he worked on in Boston and surrounding areas with family and friends.
John was a kind and caring person who supported his family and contributed to many charities.
Services will be kept private.
