Bruce Richard Langmaid, 75 of Danvers, MA passed away peacefully with his beloved family at his side on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA. Bruce was born in Lynn, MA on February 7, 1950, and he was raised in Danvers and Lynnfield by his parents William & Barbara (Saunders) Langmaid. He grew up with his five brothers & sisters and loved to tell stories of them all growing up together. He attended Lynnfield High School and courageously enrolled in the US Navy where at the young age of 18, was off to training camp just days after his high school graduation. Bruce with honor and bravery served in the Vietnam War as a Naval Seabee. Bruce met his wife, Patricia on the day he returned from the war. Bruce and Patricia were married for 53 years. Together, they raised their three children Jennifer, Emily & Patrick.
Bruce proudly operated his family-owned business Sagamore Industrial Finish Corporation of Amesbury, MA with his siblings. The Naval Seabee moto of "can do" reflected a strong work ethic and ability to overcome challenges, all of which he carried through his lifetime. Bruce or "Brucie", as known by many, will be remembered for his ever-loving sense of humor and sarcasm. He had the gift of gab and would make anyone feel special with conversations that would go on and on. Many would define him as a "great guy" and someone who would go the extra step, always lending a hand. One of his favorite pastimes was his love of antique cars and sharing long talks with fellow veterans he would meet along the way, but especially the time he spent at the Veterans Hospitals.
Bruce's greatest joy in life was being a Grampy to his six grandchildren, Tyler, Abigail, Gwenyth, Welles, Quinn & Louie. He referred to them daily as "his babies". As soon as they were born, his life revolved around them. His grandchildren adored their Grampy and all the jokes, hugs, and kisses that they shared with him.
In addition to his children, and grandchildren, he is survived by his son in-laws James Sullivan and Eric Picard and daughter in-law Mary Langmaid. He is also survived by brothers - William & Michael and his sister Joy. He is preceded in death by his brother Raymond and sister Cheryl as well as his mother & father. Uncle Brucie was loved by his many nieces & nephews. He had many friends, some of which are his friends from growing up, all who will miss him dearly.
His military funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 10:30a.m. in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. All family and friends are invited to attend. The ceremony will take place closest to the Ash Street side of the Cemetery. Donations in Bruce's memory may be made to the Fisher House Foundation, which provides free lodging for service members, veterans, and families receiving medical care at military and VA Hospitals.
