John Lawrence Allen, age 77 of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was born October 16, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late William and Helen Allen.

John graduated from Xenia High School in the class of 1965 and from Central State University in the class of 1970. He then proudly served his country in both the United States Army as a Chemical Corp and the United State Air Force as a Master Navigator KC-135; retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. John was a longtime member of the Greene County Fish and Game, the Masonic Lodge # 49 in Xenia, the Dayton Shriners and the Ohio Gun Collectors Association in Wilmington. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and trap shooting; as well as boating with his family at Lake Erie.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Almeda Stitt, Margaret Allen and Priscilla Harper.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kitty; children, Laura (Brian) Allen, John Allen and Katie Allen; grandchildren, Nicholas Greene, Christian Greene, Zoe Dice and Katelynn Dice; and many other loving family members and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday October 4, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).
