It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Steen Allyn, 69, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who left us peacefully on October 26th, 2025 at Atrium Mercy in Charlotte, NC.
Born on May 10th, 1956, John lived a life full of love, laughter and hard work. He was a great father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend.
John was a unique soul with a curious mind and a spirit all his own. He had a way of seeing the world differently and often sharing stories and ideas that reminded those around him that imagination has no limits.
John faced many challenges in life, but he faced them in his own way. Those who knew him will remember his routines, his love of stories, and his presence in the room.
He was the beloved husband of the late Cynthia Lynn Allyn, Beloved son of the late Henry G. “Hank” Allyn Jr and Betsy (Burrows) Allyn, Beloved father of Brittany Aguinaga (Manuel) and Brooke Allyn. Beloved brother of Bonnie Allyn (Chuck Hoffmann) and Greg Allyn (Cindy). Beloved grandfather of Cynthia Michelle Allyn, Mia Sky Aguinaga and Lilliana Charlotte Aguinaga.
He is survived by a family who loved him and will remember him with compassion and peace.
Private Services will be held by the family.
