John E. Askin, MSgt, USAF retired, passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age
of 94 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he retired from the Air Force Security Service
(USAFSS) with 26 years of service. He went on and retired from the
Cryptologic Systems Group after a 20-year Federal Civil Service career. He
was a Past Master of Somerset Masonic Lodge No. 1205 and served as
Secretary for 20 years. He was the DDGM for District 39B in 1980, a member
of the San Antonio Scottish Rite Bodies and Alzafar Shrine. He was preceded
in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Bernice, his stepdaughter Beverly
Foreman, and his brother, Ronald J. Askin. He is survived by his sister Mary E.
Phillips, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Mission Parks Funeral
Chapel South on October 14, 2025 from 4 to 7 pm. Interment will be at the
Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on October 15, 2025 at 10 am
