Palmer Askin passed away, October 5, peacefully at home with his family. He was a good man that could do anything and do it professionaly. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, if he liked you.
He was a truck driver for many years in New Jersey and in the teamster union, and part owner in Mikes Deli. He moved to Florida where he and his wife had a business of Palmer Lawn care and pressure cleaning, and on slow times he did tree work. Growing up he was a trapper of muskrats as well as an avid fisherman and hunter. His Family and dogs were everything.
He is survived by his loving wife Leona, of 43 years. His children Alice(Jim) Aguilar, Palmer Askin jr. and his late wife Tina, Kevin Askin and his late wife Angela, his grand children Elizabeth Askin, Patrick and Charlotte Aguilar, Kevin Askin Jr., his Siblings Betty Feurborn and her late husband Carmen, who he loved like a brother, and sister Georgia Askin, and his many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his his Parents Palmer and Helena Askin, his sisters Muriel Askin, Edna Todd, and Bobbie Askin.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 11 from 5-7 with his Funeral service at 7, at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown of Greeneville, TN. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to St Jude.
