John Bernard Avegno, affectionately known as "Johnny B" and "Tuna Fish," passed away on August 21, 2025.

He was born to the late Frances Musser and Thomas Louis Avegno, and was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. John is survived by his brothers, Thomas Louis Avegno III and Timothy Robert Avegno (Claire); his nephews, Martin Avegno, Hugh Russell, and Ben Russell; and his nieces, Caroline Andress, Molly Creel, Charlotte Bradford, Katie Newland, and Rachel Krentz.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Anne Avegno Russell, and his brother-in-law, Howard Russell Jr.

John was a long-time member of the Magnolia School community, where he was known and loved. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Magnolia Community Services staff for their compassionate care and support throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to Magnolia Community Services, 100 Central Ave, Jefferson, LA 70121.

A private memorial service was held on Friday, August 29, 2025.
