John Baize Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 13, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Arthur Baize, who left this world on December 12, 2025, at the age of 83, in Moultrie, Georgia. Born on September 13, 1942, in Rochester, New York, John lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to his family, his career, and his passions.

John was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Cheryl Ann Martin Baize, who preceded him in death, along with his parents, Leeman Baize and Ruth Strauss, and his brother, David Baize. He is survived by his two sons, David Baize (Theresa) and Stephen Baize (Charlotte), who cherish the memories of their father. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Cody Banks, Stephen Baize, Jr., Penelope Baize, and Eugene Baize, who were the light of his life, his brother Roger Baize, and sister, Grace (Winston).

A skilled Journeyman Electrician, John's career was marked by his dedication and expertise, retiring as a Facility Engineer from Boeing in Macon, Georgia. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, where he contributed not only through his skills but also his camaraderie.

Beyond his professional life, John was a kind and funny individual who found joy in many pursuits. He was an avid fisherman, relishing the time spent on the water, and had a passion for working on cars and radio-controlled vehicles. Many evenings were spent in his garage, tinkering on projects, a testament to his spirited and industrious nature. He also enjoyed motorcycle racing, where he made numerous treasured memories.

Faith was an essential part of John's life; he was a devoted member of the Baptist community, reflecting his values of family and kinship. He will be remembered not only for his talents and work but also for the love he shared with his family and the warmth he brought to those around him.

A graveside service will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, in his honor on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering this remarkable man.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who wish to express their condolences to consider supporting the mission found at USCG. John Arthur Baize will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
