John David Baize, 53, of Wenona, passed away on December 16, 2025 in Wisconsin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2-5:00 PM at the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home in LaSalle.
John was born on June 13, 1972 in Princeton to Robert Lee and Joyce Marie (Maynard) Baize. He was a tattoo artist and owned and operated Wenona Ink and Cadillac Tattoo. He was also the owner of War Horse Jiu Jitsu. John was a very talented singer and song writer and was involved with performing in many bands over the years, especially the bands A.W.O. and Vore. He married Missy Mertel at Starved Rock in September 1997.
John is survived by his wife, Missy of Wenona; his brother, Tony Baize of Holiday, Florida; and his sisters, Phyllis (Dan) Grater of Sterling, Kathy (Pete) Siebert of Oglesby, and Angie (Terry) Kelly of Oglesby. Surviving as well are many nieces and nephews, Sonia, Matt, and Cole, Katrina and Aaron, Zakk and Ian, and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews, not all by blood, but all very loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Damien Baize; and his sister, Helen Baize.
