John T. Banigan, Jr., 69, of South Kingstown died Wednesday, December 4th at his home.
Born in Providence, a son of the late John T. and Mona L. (Robinson) Banigan, he had been a resident of South Kingstown for the past ten years, previously residing in Cranston. Mr. Banigan was a sheet metal worker for Local 17 for twenty-four years before retiring in 2014. John enjoyed the beach and fishing. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage.
He leaves one son, Shawn P. Kennedy of Smithfield, and his daughter, Caitlin M. Banigan of Newport. He was the brother of Thomas J. Banigan of Cranston, Paul F. Banigan of South Riding, Virginia, Maureen L. Renaud of Providence, Eileen F. Hopkins of Cranston, and Mona M. Banigan of Cranston. He also leaves several nephews and nieces.

I worked with John many years ago, an after school job down the street from John's house. He had a great sense of humor and made the day go by quickly; I am sorry to read this.
