Winslow - John O. Bearce, 61, passed away on July 6, 2025, in Augusta, Maine surrounded by his loved ones. Born on April 5, 1964, in
Waterville, Maine, John lived a life marked by his deep love for his family, his dedication to his work, and a passion for the open road and sea.
He married Patricia (Saucier) Bearce-the love of his life-in a small and intimate ceremony in Key West. The couple returned there each year to celebrate their anniversary, creating cherished memories in a place that held special meaning for them both.
Together with Patty, John enjoyed traveling to Florida destinations such as Cocoa Beach and Key West. These trips often included his best friend Chris Crowell, and John's stepson, Chris, forming unforgettable experiences centered around offshore fishing adventures and flats fishing excursions.
John was known for his meticulous nature-he liked things clean and just-so. On days off with good weather, you could always find him washing his car with care and pride. His attention to detail extended beyond vehicles; it was a reflection of how he approached life-with clarity, purpose, and consistency.
A proud graduate of Winslow High School's Class of 1982, John began working at an early age. His first jobs included working at a local service station in Waterville and cleaning cars to earn extra money-early signs of the industrious spirit that would define his career. After high school, he joined Ace Tire Company and later Elm City Motors, where his lifelong passion for automobiles truly took root.
John's professional journey through the automotive industry was both extensive and impressive. He brought his expertise and enthusiasm to Cold Brook Saab, Davis Auto Mall, Chambers Chevrolet, and ultimately O'Connor Auto Park, ending his career as the Used Car Manager. Known for his remarkable memory-especially when it came to numbers-and his ability to complete tasks with exceptional speed and precision, John earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Bearce; step-son Christopher J. Jacques and his girlfriend Alexis Lint; siblings Kathryn Bearce, Paula Katyryniuk (Ron), Jeffrey Bearce (Joanna), Lisa Mitchell (Steve); brothers-in-law Michael Saucier (Paula Craighead), Jon Saucier (Nancy), Daniel Saucier (Brenda), James Saucier (Jean), Peter Saucier, Paul Saucier (Cindy); sisters-in-law Sandra Bard (Andrew Heckler), Cathy Kershner (Dirk); and best friend Christopher Crowell (Jes), as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents Orrin "OC" and Doris (McCafferty) Bearce; father-in-law Edmund Saucier; mother-in-law Joanne (Joler) Saucier; sister Debbie Walsh; brothers Daniel Bearce and infant brother Ryan Bearce; and sisters-in-law Kate Bearce and Susan (Saucier) Surette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 15th at 10:00 am at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 116 Silver Street, Waterville followed by a burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville.
John's legacy lives on through those who knew him best-as a devoted husband, a hardworking professional with an unmatched memory for details, and a loyal friend who loved the sea as much as the road beneath his tires. May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
