John Allen Beems passed away on December 21, 2024, at the age of 96 in Plymouth, Michigan. Born on September 17, 1928, in Dearborn, Michigan, John led a life marked by commitment to both his work and his family.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, an experience that shaped his character and instilled values of discipline and service. Following his military service, John returned to civilian life, where he had a successful career as a purchasing agent for Ford Motor Company.
He was married for 69 years to his beloved wife, Margaret Jean Beems, who predeceased him in 2022. Together, they created a loving home. He is survived by his son, John V. (Gretchen) Beems, and grandchildren, Megan Beems and Meredith (Matthew) Smith, as well as great-grandchildren Jackson and Eleanor Smith. John’s family was his pride and joy, and his legacy lives on through them.
In addition to his wife Margaret, John was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Hazel (Greer) Beems. The love and guidance he received from them were formative in his approach to family and work.
John will be laid to rest next to his wife in a private committal service at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, Michigan
The memory of John Allen Beems will be treasured by all who knew him, especially his family, who will continue to carry forth his values and spirit in their lives.
