John L. Bella, 69, of Lakeland, went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at University Hospital. John was born in Syracuse, NY to Sam and Dolores (Camerota) Bella. He was a graduate of Liverpool High School's Class of 1974. John excelled as one of the top gymnasts at Liverpool High School, as well as the county, and received many awards and commendations. He was a New York State champion twice for his skills on the rings. For 30 years he was owner and operator of Bella Bakery. John was also known as "The Singing Baker." Customers always enjoyed the cakes and his singing. He loved hosting barbeques at his home with family and friends. John enjoyed spending time in his workshop where he crafted many pieces for his home and family. He was also a member of the Syracuse Corvette Club.

John is predeceased by his father, Sam Bella; uncle, Morris Camerota as well as many other family members.

Surviving to cherish John's memory are his wife of 48 years, Sue (Ditch) Bella; children, Leah, Tiffany, David and Anthony; mother, Dolores (Camerota) Bella; grandchildren, Vincent, Angelina, John, Lyla, Michael, Xavier, Jakob and Savannah; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Deardria (Mike) Otis and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from noon to 3:00 pm at Maurer Funeral Home, 3541 State Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY 13027 with a funeral service to immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
