John E. Bentley, 70, died Saturday, October 18, 2025 at his home. Born February 15, 1955, Johnny was the oldest son of Marilyn (Cook) and Willard Bentley.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce (Lawson) Bentley; son, Gene; daughter, Rhonda; and several granddaughters and grandsons, Ashley, Emily, Mandy & Adam Bentley; and David & Shirley Lawson. Johnny was the oldest of 15 kids in the Bentley family. Surviving also are brothers & sisters, Mike (Jill) Bentley, Pam (Ted) Brown, Willie (Rennie) Bentley, Robin (Tom) Collins, Jason Bentley, Cindy (Buddy) Coverdale, and Thomas (Julie) Bentley; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his siblings, Jane Ann Leeper, Wilma Kay Bentley, Karen Beason, Jerry Bentley, David Bentley, James Bentley, and Carl Bentley.

Johnny started working at the age of 13 at Bill’s Drive Inn. He later worked and retired from Firestone after 32 years. For many years, Johnny also owned and worked at Bentley’s Seal Coating business.

Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved bowling, fishing, motorcycles, and playing cards. Johnny was a very loving person who loved being around his family.

Johnny requested not to have a traditional funeral. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038 (www.hamiltonhumane.com).
