John Curry Bewley

John Curry Bewley, 83, of Sweetwater passed away Tuesday June 10, 2025 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with John Hamilton officiating. McCoy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born December 11, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Paul M. and Bernice (Mooney) Bewley. John married Patricia June Hill July 2, 1960 in Sweetwater. She passed away April 24, 1985. He then married Susan Wills December 29, 1986 in Sweetwater. John owned and operated Bewley Paint and Body Shop since 1973 along with his children. He had lived in Fisher and Nolan Counties most all his life. John was a member of the Downtown Men's Bible Class for many years and was a past member of the Sweetwater Jaycee's, The Chuck Wagon Gang, the West Texas Rehab Cooking Team, Sweetwater Bass Club and had served on the Trail of Lights Committee. John also was a past member of the Diamondback Rollers Car Club and served as a Board Member. He is survived by his wife; Susan Bewley of Sweetwater, daughter; Reneigh Meneses and husband Mark of Sweetwater, sons; Ronald Bewley and wife Kati of Sweetwater, Curry Bewley and wife Dianna of Sweetwater, Mitch Moore and wife Ryan of Sweetwaterand Jay Moore and wife Heather of Boerne, Texas, 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. John is also preceded in death by his daughter; Darla Sue Bewley, brothers; Kenneth Bewley, Dan Sherer and numerous other family members. Honorary pallbearers are Henry Ortega, Buzzy Suggs, Don Grubbs, Billy Allen, Mark Wofford, Mike Graves, Kenneth Lee Hill, Robert Bewley and members of the Downtown Bible class.
