John Birmingham was born June 21st, 1940, in Athens, Michigan to James and Mary Birmingham. He Had three brothers: Wally, Clayton and Brandon, and two sisters: Barbara and Judy. John spent several years in the Marine Reserves and began working at St. Regis paper mill in Battle Creek Michigan where he worked for 47 years before retiring as a lead millwright. John was married twice and had his son Lee through his first marriage with Marjorie Askin. His second wife Katie Patterson passed away in 2008. John spent the last three years living in Central Point with his son Lee and daughter in law Kim. He loved to visit his sister Judy and her family in Eagle Point and the occasional visits with his granddaughters. John passed away on September 29th at the Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. John is survived by his son Lee Birmingham, sister Judy Campbell and his granddaughters Adrien and Paige Birmingham. A graveside service for John will be held on Friday, May 17 at 11:00 A.M. at Cedar Creek Cemetery with full military honors.
