John Bleifuss

John Conlin Bleifuss, beloved husband, father, and friend, quietly passed on Thursday, Sept 11th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and quiet strength. Before beginning his storied, decades-long career in aviation, John put in long hours on the road driving tanker trucks. He later fulfilled his dream of flying in 1979 when he became a captain pilot with Alaska Airlines, where he spent many years soaring the skies with dedication and professionalism until his retirement in 2004.

Beyond his career, John's true joy was found in the simple yet profound moments of connection with others. He cherished sitting down with family, friends, and neighbors, sharing stories with a unique laugh that reflected his boisterous spirit. A lifelong fan of classic westerns, John was also an avid lover of books and music across many genres. His easygoing and sometimes intense nature, alongside a refusal to complain, endeared him to all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia, and six children: daughters Tracey and Leighton, sons John and Chris, and stepdaughters Bronwen, and Erin.
