John Blemaster Obituary

John Blemaster, age 97, passed away peacefully in his Chagrin Falls residence on April 28, 2025 in the presence of family and his trusted caretaker. Born in Salamanca, New York on February 27, 1928 John lived a very full, productive life. After serving in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 John returned to Salamanca where in 1948 he married his hometown sweet heart, Joan McBride. After working in Erie, PA for several years, John and Joan moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he bought his 1st machine shop and decided that he never wanted to work for anyone again. He went on to found several successful businesses including Production Pattern Co., Ohio Aluminum Industries and Ravenna Aluminum Co..
John is survived by his wife, Pamela Blemaster; his 4 children Gary Blemaster (Jane), Melanie Swarthout (Steve), Eric Blemaster (Janet), and Kurt Blemaster (Ngan); 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Blemaster.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5pm on Saturday May 3 at Kindrich-McHugh-Steinbauer Funeral Home, 33375 Bainbridge Rd., Solon, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Milestone Autism Resources or to the Chautauqua Lake Association Inc..
A celebration of his life will be held later this year.
