BONCELLA, JOHN D. of Waterford; November 14. 2021; age 86; Loving husband of Geri for 64 years; Dear father of Dan Boncella (Susan), Janelle (Chris) Kunz, Johnna (Bob) Struck, Jodi (Paul) Kramer and Jordie (Ken) Kramer; Cherished grandfather of Danielle (Marcus), Aaron (Kristen), Lisa (Chris), Alexis, Katie, Brett, Madeline (Colin), Mitchell, Allison, Rachael, Andrew and Caroline; Devoted great-grandfather of Annabelle, Iris, Kai. Mr. Boncella was a Data Systems Analyst for the General Motors Corporation and EDS. He was a member of St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council. John was an Eagle Scout and Scout Leader, a member of the B.P.O.E. # 810 and a graduate of Duquesne University. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing and skiing. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hugo of the Hills Catholic Church (Stone Chapel) 2215 Opdyke Road, Bloomfield Hills. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, and at the Church on Friday 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the church.
