BONENFANT, John C. Age 78, of Groton, MA, passed away peacefully, on April 28, 2025. Born on February 8, 1947, in Arlington, Massachusetts, John was raised in the nearby town Billerica. He lived a full and devoted life grounded in hard work, love and unwavering commitment to his family. A respected businessman, John was the founder and owner of JBM General Contractors Construction Company. During his retirement years, John and his wife, Nancy, took great pride in restoring and operating their grand Victorian bed and breakfast, New Hampshire, for twenty years. John enjoyed interacting with guests, utilizing his culinary skills to service delicious breakfast and landscaping the beautiful grounds overlooking the White Mountains. John also found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and taking walks with the family's beloved dogs. He will be remembered for his steady presence, generous heart and the deep love he shared with those closest to him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy Silva Bonenfant; his sons, John Bonenfant, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Groton, Brian Bonenfant and his wife, Joy, of Carlisle and Mark Bonenfant and his wife, Jennifer, of Groton. He was a proud grandfather to Ashley, Tyler, Kyle, Matthew, Thomas, Nicholas, Collin and Ella Bonenfant. John also leaves behind his sister, Carol Nordstrom and her husband, Ronald; his brother, Edward Bonenfant and his wife, Susan; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, May 1, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, at Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Road, BILLERICA, MA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM, at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica, MA.
