John Ryland Boney, Sr., 81, of D’Iberville, MS passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Pascagoula.
Mr. Boney was born in Biloxi and graduated from D’Iberville High School. He served in the Army National Guard for a term of service. Mr. Boney was a floor coverer by trade for many years. He then joined the Biloxi Fire Department where he retired as Captain after 21 years of service. Mr. Boney was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and Saints fan until the end. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Boney was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee R. and Clemorse A. Boney; his brothers, J.C. Boney, Lee G. Boney, Dennis “Perch” Boney and Clement Boney; and his sisters, Eulalie Balius, Joyce Thibodeaux and Rosalie Fisher.
Mr. Boney’s survivors include his daughters, Karen Boney Catchot, Delicia (Steve) Boney Riegle and Kristy (James) Boney Harvey; his sons, John Ryland (Rhonda) Boney Jr. and Dennis Russell (Jessica) Boney; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Swetman Cemetery.
