Mr. John Bower was born February 4, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas. His parents were Robert Edward Bower and Dorothy Rayl Bower of Corpus Christi. John attended Roy Miller High School. John was a college graduate and later earned a Master's Degree in Constitutional Law and a teaching certificate. His career included work as a paralegal and a long tenure as a teacher.

John is survived by his former wife, Jennifer Bower, whom he married in 1983. He also has two children, Juan Quddus Bower and Maria Tahirih Bower. He is mourned by his brother, Henry Edward Bower, his cousins, Linda Griffith and Brenda Fox, as well as other relatives and many friends.

John Bower was a devoted member of the Baha'i Faith. With a desire to improve the lives of others, he pioneered with his family to Honduras for 10 years where he was active in teaching as well as community improvement projects. He then worked as a public school teacher in New Mexico and spent time in South Korea and Taiwan as an educator. He also traveled to the Baha'i World Center in Haifa, Israel three times during his life. John had a special love for children, especially those with special needs. He was a loving husband and father, a dedicated educator, a stalworth Baha'i, and a genuinely kind individual.

Although he had challenges both physical and emotional, he powered through with faith and compassion... His was a life well lived.
