John Michael Boyd, 72, of Topeka, Kansas passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital, February 23, 2025.
He was born in Lawrence, Kansas the son of Keith and Dorothy Boyd. He was a 1970 graduate of Seaman High School.
John owned and operated JM Boyd Construction for over 40 years, was a member of THBA and retired in 2022. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, camping, water skiing, and antiquing. He was a collector of antique banks and glass airplanes. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their activities. He was a true craftsman, built many things for loved ones including toys for his daughters and a home for his family.
He married Marj Haid on July 14, 1972 in Topeka. In addition to his wife Marj, he is survived by two daughters, Robin (Travis Lindsay), Kristina (Billy Hill); four grandchildren Emma, Dayton, Delaney and Zachary; and two siblings Tom Boyd and Diane Taylor of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1st at Parker-Price & Davidson, 245 NW Independence Ave. Topeka, Kansas.
His final resting place will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, where a graveside service will take place immediately following the funeral.
