John M. Branski, Jr., 70, of Green Springs, OH passed away on June 19, 2024 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 4, 1953 in Fremont, OH the son of John and Lois (Hunt) Branski Sr. John was a 1971 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
John married Jacqueline J. Sours on June 4, 1983 at Green Springs United Methodist Church and she survives. He was an equipment operator for over 30 years with the Operators Local 18 until he retired in 2018. John was a member of the Green Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He joined the department in 1983 and served as Captain 1986-92, Assistant Chief 1993-96, Chief 1996-99 and retired from service in 2006. He was also a state certified fire instructor.
John was a member of Clyde St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, reading and gardening. He also enjoyed star gazing, bird watching and listening to music. John was an OSU football and Cleveland Indians fan. He loved to spend time with his family, friends and enjoyed their lake house.
John is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Jakki Branski, Green Springs; children, John (Loren) Branski III, Green Springs, Jenna (Kevin) Parzych, Columbus and Jarad (Shelbi) Branski, Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, George and Millie Parzych; sister, Martha (Jim) Farmer, Toledo; brothers-in-law, Terry Hanson and Bill Thiessen; sister-in-law, Linda Deel and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jean (Hood) VandenArend and Ruth Ann Hansen; parents-in-law, Don and Phyllis Sours; brother-in-law, Jim Deel and sister-in-law, Kim Thiessen.
Visitation will take place on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH.
Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 25, 2024; 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Green Springs Cemetery.
Memorials can be made St. Mary Catholic Church or Green Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
