Rosemary “Rose” Lea McSwain, 73, of Tiffin, OH, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Regency Hospital in Oregon, OH. She was born on January 20, 1952 to Harvey E. Martz and Mary Ruth (Zimmerman) Barney in Fort Wayne, IN. Rose married Dale McSwain in Fremont, OH and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2004.
Rose worked for Ameriwood as a machine operator for over thirty-seven years until she retired in 2014. She enjoyed reading, cooking, playing solitaire and spending time with her family. Rose love drinking her morning coffee and cigarettes.
Rose is survived by her children, Joyce (Ryan) Severs, Green Springs, OH, Velisa (Aaron Steele) McSwain, Bobbie (Mike Wells) Emmons, Dale McSwain, all of Tiffin, OH, Jerry McSwain, Chicago, IL, Jimmy McSwain, Vickie Holmes, Carla McSwain, Kirby McSwain, Tommy McSwain, Mickey McSwain, all of Tennessee; grandchildren, Victoria and Monica Emmons and many other grandchildren; siblings, April Workman, Marilyn (Eddie) Bryant, Linda (Bill) Graham; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale McSwain; siblings, Chuck Martz, Cheryl Murphy; son, Ronnie McSwain.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH 44836.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 12 noon at the funeral home with an hour of visitation prior to services from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Burial will take place at Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort, OH.
Memorials can be made in her honor to her daughter Bobbie Emmons for costs of Funeral Services.
