John Steven Bross, 91, of Erie, passed away Wednesday September 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Sheffield, PA on January 9, 1934, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica Andrews Bross.

John attended Lawrence Park High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked at American Sterilizer for 32 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an antique clock enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn Schneider Bross; his son, John Joseph Bross; his two grandsons, Joseph John Fisher and Ryan Stewart; three sisters, Elizabeth Ksiaszczak, Helen Pearce, and Josephine Housler; two brothers, Michael Bross and Joseph P. Bross, II; and his former wife, and mother of his children, Mary Ann Tirpak Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Andrews and Christine Lucchetti (Joseph); three stepdaughters, Dawn Clouser, Stacie Zaleski (Kurt), and Kelly Stewart; one stepson, Lance Clouser (Terry); his sister, Veronica Grucza (Edward); many grandchildren, including Alessia Lucchetti, who was his care giver for the last two years, handled all of his hospice care, and was with him every step of the way these past four days, and Nicole R. Borkowski who, along with Alessia, spent time together with John while he transcended into Heaven; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504.
