John Leroy Brown (Big John)
November 29, 1954 – August 31, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Leroy Brown, who left us peacefully on August 31, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on November 29, 1954, in Pasadena (AAAAHH), CA. John built a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and community. A proud resident of Kalama WA, John retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2012 after a long and respected career. He also served his community as a Volunteer Fireman from 1980 to 1990, always willing to lend a helping hand when it mattered most.
John was a man who truly lived life to the fullest. He found joy in the great outdoors-hunting, camping, fishing, and riding motorcycles were just a few of his favorite pastimes. He loved to golf, explore new places, and spend time traveling, often surrounded by the people he loved most. His sense of humor, steady presence, and deep loyalty made him a treasured friend to many.
John was also an Ordained Minister (A Man of the Cloth) He officiated several wedding ceremonies including 2 of his own sons' weddings
John is survived by his beloved wife, Connie, and their Sons: John (Amy), Jeff (Abigail), Andrew (Jessica), Jesse (Lisa), Mike (Susan), and Bobby He was a proud Grandpa to Tyler (Aly), Allison (Jordan), Kelsey, Chelsei (Spencer), Mireya (Francisco), Aleyna, Jesse, Christian, Chloe, Aivry, and Timothy, and a cherished great grandpa to Jamison, Adee and Rori and a Sister Donna Wright
John's legacy lives on in the strength and love of his family, the many friendships he built over a lifetime, and the countless memories shared around a campfire, on the open road, or by a quiet river.
A celebration of life will be held to honor John's memory. Details will be shared with family and friends in the coming days.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
