Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church honoring the life of John Brown, 80, who passed away on September 22, 2025.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:15 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Saturday.

Rev. George-Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Solomon Brown and Kyra Joseph. George Williams will be reading the Prayer of the Faithful.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

John was born on November 21, 1944, in Lafayette. For over 25 years, John poured his heart into operating heavy machinery, bringing expertise and precision to his work. His commitment extended to an impressive 41 years in lawn maintenance.

Beyond his professional life, John's spirit thrived in his personal interests. He had an infectious love for dancing, often filling rooms with joy and laughter as he moved gracefully to the music. Cooking was another one of his beloved passions; family and friends will remember the delicious aroma of his meals wafting through the air, inviting all to gather around the table. His garden was a sanctuary of vibrant colors, a testament to his nurturing nature and fondness for all living things.

Traveling was also a significant part of John's life. Whether vacationing to new destinations or revisiting cherished places, he embraced the adventure with excitement and open arms. His experiences enriched his life, offering countless stories that he loved to share, igniting wanderlust in those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Lee Anna Joseph Brown; son, Shane Brown; brothers, Joseph Solomon Brown (Carolyn), Howard Paul Brown, Leonard Brown (Celina) and Kenneth Edward; sisters, Dorothy Comeaux and Linda Comeaux; grandchildren, Shaylin Brown and Shane Brown, Jr.; great-grandchild, Da'shai Jenelle Andrus; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Lorina Barlow Brown; brother, Herbert Barlow; nieces, Barbara Brown and Wendy Barlow; in-laws, Lester & Beulah Joseph; nephews, Leonard Brown, Jr., and Clarence Barlow; brothers-in-law, Thomas Joseph, Gerald Comeaux, and Albert Comeaux; and sister-in-law, Mary Robert.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Joseph, Kendall Joseph, Rufus Robert, Timothy Barlow, Xavier Williams, Sr., and Shane Brown, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Solomon Brown, Howard Brown, Leonard Brown, Jason Brown, Robert Comeaux, and Joseph "Lil Joe" Solomon Brown, Jr.
