He worked as a stone cutter having retired from Apex Granite Company, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls. He was a loving husband, father, Papa and brother. He was a simple man and an avid woodworker who enjoyed using his talents to make furniture and other items. Moon (Scott); grandchildren: Ryan Moon (Courtney), Barron Busby (Julina), Johna Ware (Bruce), and Kyle Moon (Aleigh); great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Moon, Renleigh Moon, and Brogan Ware; brother, Bobby Busby (Glenda) all of Elberton; brother-in-law, Dennis Starnes (Sandra) of Athens, GA; sisters-in-law: Susan Anderson of Rutherfordton, NC and Candy Pierce of Wilmington, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: David Busby Richard Busby, Floyd Busby, Ervin Busby, and Betty Robinson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00a.m. until 10:45a.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Andrew Danals, will follow at 11:00a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Methodist Church cemetery with Ryan Moon, Kyle Moon, Barron Busby, and Bruce Ware honored as pallbearers.
