John Bush Obituary

Bushy Boy, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. He attended Caffee Junction Church most of his life. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. He had a deep love for his family, his church, and left a profound impact on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
John is survived by his wife Shirley, his three children Letitia (Richard), Phillip (Katie), and Jan (Jim) and his sister Mary Alice Bush. He had 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Roy Bush, Clarence Bush, Dewey Bush, Gerald Bush, Preston Bush, and Charles Bush, his sister Cecil Bush Gamble, and his grandson Daniel Miller
After his graduation from Brookwood High School, John joined the US Army from 1953-1955. He was stationed in Austria.
John worked as a pipe fitter at US Steel until his retirement.
Outside of his family, John found joy in his church where he served faithfully. He served in various roles but mostly known for his road trash pick up every Saturday so that everyone could enjoy a beautiful, clean road as they entered for Sunday worship.
He loved his blueberry farm, but he loved giving them away to anyone who wanted them even more.
Those who knew John will remember him for his infectious smile and that witted sense of humor, his deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh. If you need a great Bushy Boy story just see any grandchild here today. He left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
The Celebration of Life service to honor John will be held at Caffee Junction Church of God.
