John Francis Callinan Sr.

John F. (Jack) Callinan Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025. John was
predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Doreen B. (Bidelspach) Callinan who passed
away February 19, 2023. John was the son of the late James M. Callinan and Catherine T.
(Sullivan) Callinan, he was also predeceased by his brother Martin Callinan and his sister
Patricia Boudreau.
John was born on February 24,1936 in Cambridge, MA. He lived most of his life in
Somerville, MA where he raised his family.
After his retirement from the MBTA as a track
repairman, John and Doreen moved to Sunbury, PA. John was also a proud veteran of the
US Army where he served in Germany.
John leaves behind four sons, John F. Callinan Jr. and
his wife Lynne of Uxbridge MA, James M. Callinan and his wife Linda of Tewksbury MA,
Joseph M. Callinan and his wife Deborah of Shelton, CT, Jerry S. Callinan and his wife
Claudia of Haines City, FL. John and Doreen's legacy continues on in their 10
grandchildren, Alex, Joshua, Brian, Jack, Hannah, Carianne, Michael, Marykate, Sean, and
Elizabeth and 2 great - grandchildren Eliza, and Kasey.
John was a gentle and soft-spoken man with a quick wit and biting one-liners. He was
famous for his "dad-isms" and his sound advice. When he wasn't in the basement tinkering
around you would find him in his gardens growing vegetables, flowers and his prized
rhubarb. John and Doreen left a mark on this world in the lives they touched and the good
they did.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 am at the BUMA FUNERAL HOME 101 North Main Street, Uxbridge, to be followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
Burial will Be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.
