John Calzada Obituary
John was a man of quiet strength and deep faith, and a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. He will be remembered for the kindness he showed to others and the love he had for his family.
He is survived by his devoted sisters: Eluteria C. Serna, Dolores C. Del Toro, and Rosa C. Garcia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who brought joy and purpose to his life.
John is preceded in death by his parents, along with his sisters: Nancy C. Rodriguez, Mary Gloria C. Garza, Lenora C. Dabbs, Victoria O. Calzada, and Josephine O. Calzada; his brothers: Julian O. Calzada, Billy O. Calzada, and Louis O. Calzada Jr.; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Alfred Serna Jr., Richard Rodriguez, Trino O. Calzada, Juan Luis C. Rodriguez, Norma Jean Garza, and Patricia Shafer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 1:15 p.m. and Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow.
Pallbearers will be Adrian Pina, Ed Olivarez, Casey Delossantos, Oscar Garcia, Juan Perez, and Raymond Moreno.
Though John's earthly journey has ended, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
