Bellefonte, Pennsylvania - John Frank Capparelle, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on November 17, 1938, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Shutica) Capparelle. On May 11, 1957, he married his beloved wife, Jean (Sager) Capparelle, who survives at home after sharing over 64 years of marriage together.
John served in the United States Army in 1956 and continued to serve in the Army Reserve until 1964. He owned and operated John Capparelle Trucking for over 40 years until his retirement in 2000.
In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by his four children, Gregory Capparelle (Karen) of Mill Hall, Alan Capparelle (Sandy) of Howard, Melanie Fogleman (Kevin) of Bellefonte, and Roxanne Capparelle (Denny) of Bellefonte, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Carl Capparelle and Bob Capparelle, and one sister, Vickie Wolf, all of Bellefonte.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Danny Capparelle, in 2002, and one granddaughter, Tiffany Bowmaster, in 2015.
John enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and gardening. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, and leaves behind countless memories that his loved ones will forever cherish.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
