John Care Obituary
John was born on November 30, 1937 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Thomas Care and Virginia (Owens) Care.
John proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Sierra, achieving the rank of YN3 (Yeoman Third Class). John retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and held various jobs afterward, including selling cars, delivering Motor Homes, and, most recently, working at Cabela's. He will be fondly remembered by many for his deep passion for shooting guns.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Doris June (Pfister) Care in February 25, 2024 and his brother, Tom Care.
John is survived by his two children, Rebecca Care and John R. Care Jr. and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 12 Noon until time of Service at 1:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Pastor Frank Haas, officiating in addition to Military Salute by the United States Navy and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
Interment will be held privately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
