John Carney

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother and Son, John (Terry) Carney III passed away on Monday June 26th surrounded by family.
Born in Lynn in 1951 he was son to the late John and Frances Carney, brother to Catherine, Kenneth, Paul, and Elaine. He graduated from UMass Amherst in 1973 and married his high school sweetheart Denise (Comeau) on October 11, 1975.
Terry's successful career spanned 41 years at Methods Machine Tool, where he became a legend in the industry and formed many friendships. Since he retired in 2022, Terry could be found most days, rain or shine, on the Gannon golf course in Lynn, or around his yard in Stoneham where he always had a cocktail or cigar for a passing neighbor or son who stopped by. He was full of life, laughs and stories. Terry enjoyed critiquing his family's cooking techniques, sharing a meal with friends, helping his children with home improvement projects and spending time with his 4 grandchildren. He was always there when you needed him, no matter the time, and was quick with a helping hand and heart.
Terry is survived by his wife Denise and 3 sons, their spouses and children, Derek and Kelly Carney with children Devyn and Liam, Kevin and Caitlyn Carney, and Scott and Candice Carney with children Owen and Cameron.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn, Ma, from 4pm – 8pm on Thursday June 29th. His funeral will be held on Friday June 30th at 9AM at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield, Ma. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research at www.komen.org.
