John Milford Caughman, Jr., 85, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Born in Lancaster, SC, he was the son of the late John Milford Caughman, Sr., and Myrtle Elizabeth Templeton Caughman. John honorably served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962 before establishing a successful career in sales. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of South Carolina and remained a devoted Gamecock fan throughout his life.

John had a passion for golf and enjoyed playing bridge every week. He was also a member of the "Romeo Club" and was an active participant in the Men's Group at New Spring Church in Columbia, which met every Tuesday night. Above all, John cherished his family. Affectionately known as "Big John" by his grandchildren, he was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

John is survived by his loving wife, Donna Caughman; children, Mildred Elizabeth Caughman, Cindy Sloat (Tom), Lisa Danabrock Pendleton (Ronnie), and John "Trip" Caughman III (Robin). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Paul Kevin Bryant Jr., Shawn Weidemann, Erica Evans, John "Peppie" Caughman IV (Lexi), Nicholas Weidemann, Patrick Dale Evans, and Summer Patricia Caughman; and great-grandchildren, Layla Bryant, Lillian Caughman, Abigail Caughman, Oaklynn Caughman, and Bryson Weidemann.

The service to celebrate John's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
