John "Brad" Chappelear, of Allen, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2023, at the age of 68. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Brad was born on March 15, 1955, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to his parents, Clovis Gene and Margaret Frances (Campbell) Chappelear. He built a foundation of values and character that would fill his life with plenty of funny stories and random facts that he loved to share.
On December 27, 1991 Brad and Sharon were united in marriage and built their life together in Allen, Texas. Their love was a testament to commitment and partnership, lasting over three decades.

A faithful member of Suncreek United Methodist Church, Brad's spiritual journey was an essential part of his life, offering him comfort, community, and a sense of purpose.
Brad was a loving husband, father, "Pop Pop" to Kassidy, Lilah, and Paige, and a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed golfing, working out, traveling in their RV, and spoiling his 3 granddaughters.
Brad is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Chappelear of Allen, Texas; daughter, Pam Svatek and husband, Keith; his adored granddaughters, Kassidy, Lilah, and Paige, all of Plano, Texas; brother, Kirk Chappelear and wife, Kim of Austin, Texas; brothers-in-law, John Jacob and wife, Robin of Plano, Texas, Bob Jacob and wife, Pat of Shirley, New York, Glenn Jacob and wife, Chris of Clifton Park, New York; sister-in-law, Sandy Hodgins and husband, Jim of Allen, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis Gene Chappelear and Margaret Frances Chappelear, his brother, Carey Cecil Chappelear, and his beloved dog, Gidget.
