John was avid outdoorsman; he loved to deer hunt and shoot his guns. He attended Brookstone Baptist Church. John was quite the trader and was fond of going to trade lots and browsing yard sales. If he wasn't out looking for a deal, he could be found riding his motorcycle and being in nature.
He is survived by his mother; Sylvia Jane Charlton of Burnsville; daughter, Madison Silvers (Zac) of Spruce Pine; son, John Claude Charlton of Burnsville; brother, Victor Charlton of Buladean; and sister, Sally Byrd (Sam) of Jacks Creek. He is also survived by 4 nieces and a special friend, Phil Byrd (Lisa).
A private service will be held at a later date.
